Working methods
In addition to reproducing the instruments themselves I have spent a considerable amount of effort to reproduce, as faithfully I can, the methods originally used to make them. Many of the original methods are only sketchily described, and so I have had to piece them together from what sources I can. Where information is lacking I have filled it in with extensive experimentation.
